About the editor

Game Panda (電玩小熊貓)

A PC gamer for 30+ years, from the DOS 6.22 era to the Steam Deck.

Game Panda has been playing PC games for more than 30 years. His first PC ran MS-DOS 6.22, where he learned to edit CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT to free a few more kilobytes of conventional memory; since then he has gone through Windows 95 CD-ROM games, LAN parties and internet cafes, the rise of digital storefronts, and today's Steam, Humble Bundle and handheld PCs. He plans the site and its rules: free-game listings are checked against the official Steam page, price analysis comes from price history we record ourselves, articles are written and reviewed by him, while per-game guides, bundle ratings and monthly reports are drafted by AI from our own data, pass automated quality checks and are spot-checked by him.

Why this site exists

"Free Steam game" posts online often mix up four different things: games you can keep forever, free weekends that lock again after a few days, games that are always free to play, and demos. Some are worse: fake "free key" pages that try to steal Steam accounts. The mission here is simple: list only offers you can actually keep, link only to the official Steam store, and explain clearly how to tell the difference.

The same applies to deals: a big percentage is not always a good price. We record prices ourselves so we can say whether a discount is really the lowest we have seen.

What makes this site different

  • Our own price history: we store daily Taiwan-store prices for the games we track, so "historical low" on our pages is based on data we recorded, not copied from elsewhere.
  • Free-game archive: every verified free-to-keep offer since we started tracking stays in the history database, searchable by year and month.
  • Monthly reports: each month we summarise the giveaways and notable deals from the same data.
  • Manual review: listings are filtered automatically; articles are written and reviewed by the editor; per-game guides, bundle ratings and monthly reports are drafted with AI from our own data, pass automated quality checks and are spot-checked by the editor.

How the content is produced

  1. Data collection: background jobs read public Steam store pages and store data, with at least 1.5 seconds between requests to avoid putting load on Steam.
  2. Filtering: each 100%-off candidate gets a confidence score; only full games scoring 80 or higher are shown as free to keep.
  3. AI-assisted drafts: game guides and bundle summaries are drafted with an AI model (Claude) from the store data and review statistics, published only after automated quality checks pass (all sections present, enough depth, prices must come from our own records, no AI boilerplate) and spot-checked by the editor. AI-assisted content is labelled as such.
  4. No account access: there is no Steam login on this site and no bots that claim games for you. You always claim games yourself on the official Steam store.

The full rules are in our editorial policy.
