Highlights
October gave readers four free-to-keep games on Steam, up from three in September. Our tracker covered 436 games with price data, and 269 of them (about 62%) were discounted at some point during the month. We also logged ten new historical lows and tracked 21 Humble Bundles. Steam prices are Taiwan store prices in NT$; Humble Bundle prices are in US dollars.
Three points stand out:
- Discounts ran deep. All ten of our biggest discounts were at least 90% off, led by Watch_Dogs® 2 at 95%, which dropped to NT$84 from NT$1,699 on 1 October.
- Older games set new lows. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition fell from NT$299 to NT$119, and MONSTER HUNTER RISE from NT$238 to NT$119, both on 2 October.
- The free games were well received. All four carry Very Positive or Overwhelmingly Positive labels on Steam, with positive ratings between 83.25% and 96%.
Free-to-Keep Games
Four titles were free to keep this month. Each is listed below with its regular Steam Taiwan price and its Steam review label.
- Pony Island: regular price NT$118; Very Positive (94.85% of 18,827 reviews). It has the deepest review pool of the four, so its high score is the most reliable signal in this group. We recorded it from 9 to 13 October.
- Fireside Feelings: regular price NT$152; Very Positive (83.25% of 579 reviews). It has the lowest positive share of the group. It is still firmly in Very Positive territory, but a smaller sample means each review moves its score more. We recorded it from 10 to 13 October.
- Hexologic: regular price NT$102; Overwhelmingly Positive (96% of 694 reviews). It has the highest rating of the four and the cheapest regular price. Our records show a short window of 30 to 31 October.
- Asleep: Act 1: regular price NT$188; Very Positive (91% of 316 reviews). It has the highest regular price of the group, and it was still listed at our last check on 1 November.

What to Watch Next Month
The numbers below point to a few habits worth building. This is general advice, not a forecast of any promotion.
- Wishlist the titles you want. Steam's wishlist alerts can tell you when a saved game goes on sale, which matters when 269 of 436 tracked games were discounted in a single month.
- Set a target price instead of guessing. The new lows give you reference points. Skyrim Special Edition at NT$119 and Construction Simulator at NT$40 show what strong prices looked like in October.
- Read historical lows with their history length in mind. A low backed by 7 days of prior data is less conclusive than one backed by 28 or 33 days.
- Check bundle deadlines before you buy. The bundles in our tracker end between 3 November and 21 November, so confirm the end date on the bundle page first.
- Treat free games as time-limited. Hexologic appeared in our records for only about two days, so if a free title interests you, claim it while it is listed rather than waiting.
